This was the first known auction of a Harry Brooker on the Internet, and at
the time of writing the only known successful Internet auction of a Harry Brooker
painting. Several have been placed unsuccessfully on eBay since this but have
not sold.
Other observations
This is an exquisite painting of Ruth painting at a table closely watched by Elsie and Oswald. Edwin and Charles are also painting on some paper on the floor (but I can't make out in this case, who is who). Given Harry's occupation as an artist, it is perhaps not surprising to se his children painting but what is more surprising is that this is the only painting of children painting.
The green table cloth and the large jug (under the table) are frequent objects
in many of Harry's paintings.
