Other observations
This is the last known of a series of at least seven paintings of the same size and orientation, painted between 1883 and 1887.
It is also one of only four paintings set in the countryside.
The children (all boys) are probably Edgar (now aged 8), Oswald (now aged 7)
and Edwin (now aged 4). But might alternatively be Oswald (or Edgar), Edwin
and Charles (aged 2).
