Other observations
This painting is also known as "Teatime" a frequent name applied to
at least six of Harry Brooker's paintings. The poor quality image is from a
photocopy held at the Witt Library.
The girl on the floor is probably Ruth, now aged 1 and the boy either Oswald, now 3 or Edgar, now 4.
If the lady is indeed the children's grandmother, then she will either be Emma Hunt or Caroline Ellen Allsop.
This is the first known of a series of at least seven paintings of the same
size and orientation, painted between 1883 and 1887.
